Work Experience Placements at Wycombe SwanFor secondary school and University students considering a career in the arts, we are pleased to offer a range of regular opportunities to take part in work experience placements at our unique theatre. These range from a one-day career day to one-week placements across a variety of our departments.
Work Placements at Wycombe Swan are for people aged 16 and over, and it is advised that you apply for a placement as far in advance as possible as we receive a high number of requests and fill up spaces quickly. Your dates are subject to availability and we are not always able to accommodate so will offer places to people with relevant experience, who have a genuine passion for theatre, and who are actively considering careers in theatre.
During your placements you will be based in these theatre departments:
- Administration - supporting every department and focusing on the general operation of the building, as well as what happens on stage.
- Marketing, Press and PR - supporting the theatre’s work through the provision of professional Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design and Box Office.
- Creative Learning - working with education providers, from schools to universities, using theatre as means of learning and developing key skills, as well as providing regular drama workshops and projects for children, young people and elderly people.
- Front of House - shadowing a duty manager during a matinee or evening of a busy performance ensure that audiences have a great experience when they visit our venue.
Due to the huge interest we get for work experience placements, there is an online application process in place. You are required to complete the application form and may be asked to attend an informal interview.
