Summer Youth Project provides 250 young people aged 9 – 21 the opportunity to work together in a professional theatre. The two week project culminates in four performances of a full-scale musical on our main stage under the supervision of a highly skilled creative team including a professional Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, Musicians and Technical team all in less than two weeks! The Project provides a good foundation for those wishing to further their careers in this field. Several previous Project members have gone on to study at theatre and dance schools and have successful careers both on stage and backstage

TECHNICAL
Our Backstage and Technical opportunities offer an exciting experience to work as a production team on a major musical.
You’ll take part in a group interview with the production’s Technical team. During this meeting, we’ll tell you all about our aims for the show, as well as giving you more info on all the opportunities available. You don’t need to bring anything with you. We’re just keen to meet you and hear about your thoughts and ambitions.
Technical Applicants must be aged between 14 and 21, from Sun 26 July to Sat 8 August 2020. For safety reasons, spaces are limited. PARTICIPATION FEES
Participation fees for Summer Youth Project are £180.00 per participant. We endeavour to keep fees as low as possible, however, we do have to cover increasing costs of venue hire, pastoral care and technical elements during our rehearsal and performance periods.
Please note: once payment (or part-payment) has been made there are no refunds – you have committed to the Project and taken a place from another auditionee.
The fee does not include meals or transportation which remains your responsibility. All fees for Summer Project 2020 must be paid by: Fri 24 July 2020. Failure to pay will result in the exclusion of the participant from the show.

About Summer Youth ProjectSummer Youth Project continues to evolve; every year we tackle the impossible and revel in the journey. It provides local young people with a unique opportunity to take an active interest in the performing arts and is a superb foundation for those wishing to further their careers in this field. Numerous participants have gone on to have successful careers both on and off stage. As well as being actively producing a show it helps our young company build confidence, develop skills, have fun in a creative environment, and make long-lasting friendships. Over the two week project, Wycombe Swan Theatre comes alive to the sights and sounds of 200 young people doing everything they can to put on a full scale musical in time for curtain up! Year-on-year we receive praise for the high standards that the show produces with a young cast in such a short space of time. Age
